The 2024 Pacific Championships commence tomorrow night in Brisbane. The two games set down to open the series mark the start of the month-long international season featuring both men’s and women’s competitions.

The opening match of the women’s fixture pits the Jillaroos against the PNG Orchids. Then on Saturday the Tonga XIII meet Fetu Samoa in Suva. In the men’s draw, perennial contenders Australia take on a Tonga XIII tomorrow night before the Fiji Bati meet the PNG Kumuls in Suva on Saturday.

The new look Kangaroos and the Bati will start as warm favourites in the men’s clashes. The Jillaroos will be at prohibitive odds in their match but the Tonga v Samoa game is expected to be a much closer game in the women’s games. To see the team lists for the opening round click HERE.
